Mark Alson, M.D., FACR
Mark Alson, M.D., F.A.C.R. was raised in the San Fernando Valley and graduated from University of California, Irvine before attending medical school at University of California, San Diego. He completed an internship in San Diego, and a radiology residency at Stanford, before completing a cross-sectional fellowship in CT, MRI, and ultrasound at a U.C. San Francisco program at San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Alson served as president of the California Radiological Society in 2010. He was awarded the honor of Fellowship in the American College of Radiology in 2011. When he finished his training, he and his wife decided to move their young family to Fresno. When they had climbed Half Dome on their honeymoon, they fell in love with Yosemite. They were also impressed with the schools and the family-friendly environment of the Central Valley. Dr. Alson is one of the founding members of Sierra Imaging Associates. He has served as President of the group since 2004. Dr. Alson is involved in all aspects of imaging, including oncology imaging, women’s imaging and intervention, musculoskeletal imaging, and neurological imaging. Dr. Alson and his wife have been married more than 25 years and have two grown children. He remains active in many aspects of Boy Scouts, and both he and his son are proud to be Eagle Scouts.
Leyla Azmoun, M.D.
Leyla Azmoun, M.D. lived on the East Coast for many years before moving to Fresno in 1999. She received her BA in biochemistry from Cornell University in 1988 and then attended Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston where she received her M.D. in 1992. Dr. Azmoun's internship in internal medicine was at Faulkner Hospital in Boston. Both her Diagnostic radiology residency and neuroradiology fellowship were at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. She also spent six months of her fellowship at Children’s Hospital in Boston for additional training in pediatric neuroradiology. Dr. Azmoun enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Larry De St. Jeor, M.D.
Larry De St. Jeor, M.D. was born and raised in Orem, Utah and attended the University of Utah for his undergraduate and medical degrees. He went on to UCLA for an internship in internal medicine and a year of internal medicine residency. After being an emergency physician for two years, he returned to UCLA to study diagnostic radiology. After residency, Dr. De St. Jeor completed a fellowship at UCLA in Body CT/cross sectional imaging and ultrasound and special procedures/interventional radiology. Following his fellowship, he brought his wife and young family to Fresno, in 1980. Dr. De St. Jeor's wife is a Fresno native and graduate of Roosevelt High and Fresno State. They enjoy the agriculture and family friendly environment of the Fresno area. Dr. De St. Jeor and his wife have been married more than 30 years and have two children. Their son is an award winning animator in L.A. Their daughter is married to a pastor in northern California and has given them a grandson and granddaughter.
Glenn Hananouchi, M.D.
Glenn Hananouchi, M.D. is a native Californian, born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He did his undergraduate work at University of California, Davis, majoring in biochemistry and attended medical school at Saint Louis University in Missouri. To help pay for medical school, Dr. Hananouchi received a Navy scholarship, and did an internship at Naval Hospital Oakland and residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Naval Hospital in San Diego (NHSD). He stayed at the NHSD for three additional years teaching residents in body imaging before moving to Fresno in 1994. Dr. Hananouchi is currently the Medical Director of Sierra Imaging Associates, LLC. and enjoys all aspects of radiology including body and breast imaging. Dr. Hananouchi has been married for 31 years and has 4 children. His last child is at home and is in middle school. He loves spending time with family, traveling and playing golf.
Bonna Rogers-Neufeld, M.D., FACR
Bonna Rogers-Neufeld is the lead radiologist in breast imaging and intervention for Sierra Imaging Associates, serving at WISH Fresno Breast Center. Personalized service and strict attention to detail is the focus of each day as she dedicates her professional skills to the early detection of breast cancer and imaging of the breast. Dr. Rogers-Neufeld was born in Los Angeles, California and spent the first half of her life in that area. She attended Loma Linda University, La Sierra, for undergraduate work and initially was focused on secondary education with a degree in physical education and a minor in chemistry. After teaching school for two years, she returned to complete her prerequisites for medicine and was accepted to the Loma Linda University School of Medicine, graduating in 1980 as the president of her class. Radiology residency was completed at the White Memorial Medical Center, Los Angeles, which coincidentally was ½ mile from L. A. County-USC Hospital where her parents who had trained in surgery and nursing met. She was the Chief Resident at her hospital. She is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology. Work opportunities drew the Neufelds to Fresno in 1986, where Dr. Rogers-Neufeld was drawn to women’s imaging, and in particular, breast imaging and intervention. She began when the specialty was just beginning to have a designation and distinction. This dedication was honored in 1994 when Dr. Rogers-Neufeld was named “Fresno Woman of the Year.” Literally millions of mammograms later, the daily routine remains the same with women depending on her for their annual mammographic reading. In 2009, Dr. Rogers-Neufeld received Fellowship designation in the American College of Radiology. At that time only 383 American women had ever achieved this distinction. She also is a Certified Clinical Denistometrist, which is a certification of training and testing in bone density. This certificate was sought after when she discovered there was no access for children to get bone density evaluations in the entire central valley. Her husband of 34 years, Don O. Neufeld, passed away in 2009 from an accident. She has two sons. Ethan is a radiology resident at University of California, Davis. He follows the tradition of his mother and his paternal grandfather, both radiologists and graduates of Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Eric graduated from Fresno State with a degree in communication and currently resides in Fresno. The Neufeld family has always been supportive of local businesses, arts, and events. They have given of their time and talent to organizations including arts, public service, charities, and religious organizations. Dr. Rogers-Neufeld also gives up her vacation time to serve as a medical missionary to teach and train physicians about breast care and imaging. She has travelled to India, China, Nicaragua, and most recently Guatemala to be of service to others. She has many hobbies and interests. She is well known among family and friends for the perfect chocolate fudge, which has won several awards at the Fresno Fair. Her straight forward approach to problems and dedication to her patients makes her a valued asset to the imaging teams at both Sierra Imaging and WISH.
Felix Wang, M.D.
Felix Wang, M.D. was born in Boston, Massachusetts and went to high school in Dallas, Texas before coming to California to attend Stanford University. His medical school and radiology training were completed at University of California, Irvine. After being on the U.C. Irvine medical faculty for fourteen years, Dr. Wang was persuaded to come to Fresno by a former resident. His particular interest is nuclear medicine, including PET scanning. Dr. Wang has been in Fresno since 2001, and enjoys traveling and raising Burmese cats.
